Petro-Pedagogy: What's in Your Classroom?
Have you encountered curriculum that promotes the fossil fuel industry? A survey from worker-researchers aims to investigate the prevalence of the propaganda directed at K-12 education workers.
This is collaborative citizen science effort aiming to track pro-fossil fuel industry and/or anti-climate change content distributed to classrooms across the United States. These materials are a form of disinformation and add confusion to climate change discourse and education.
You are invited to participate in a research study entitled Petro-Pedagogy: What's in Your Classroom? designed to analyze how fossil fuel companies and industry groups are promoting pro-fossil fuel agendas in classrooms across the United States through the distribution of free pro-industry materials and lesson plans. Who are the Angry Education Workers?
This is a project to gather a community of revolutionary education workers who want a socialist education system. We want to become a platform for educators of all backgrounds and job roles to share workers’ inquiries, stories of collective action, labor strategy, theoretical reflection, and art.
