Your piece helped me make the connection between ABA and PBIS (Positive Behavioral Inverventions and Supports). PBIS is used increasingly widely in schools, especially charter schools from what I can tell. PBIS frequently relies on gamified methods of behavior management, sometimes even explicitly modeled on fictitious money you can give and take from students, like Kickboard or Classdojo

A lot of people in my community got after me for saying Autism does not have to be seen as a crippling disability. They are also the same people who argue that their Autism is not a gift or superpower when that's how you get groups like Autism Speaks and people like Temple Grandin. Also, there is a group of Neurodivergent and LGBTQA superheroes called the X Men...Their leader is a very old Autistic guy with mental powers. Magneto could have stopped the whole Infinity War Saga if he put his ableist views aside and snapped Thanos out of existence. There are a lot of positive things that Autism can be, and now SpongeBob is up there with Julia and her family as a positive Autism ambassador which got his voice actor in trouble when he admitted Autism was his superpower. https://people.com/tom-kenny-reflects-on-comments-spongebob-being-autistic-going-public-8684838
