Good piece. In my view, one of the biggest stumbling blocks of mass labor unionization (besides organized capital of course), is the artificial divide created by "professionals" who only see themselves as part of the working class when it benefits them rhetorically.

One potential solution to this is to start by organizing the nonprofit sector, which is full of "professionals" who are themselves much closer to the struggles of non-professional labor (for lack of a better term). This would have its challenges, of course, but I can't really imagine the argument to unionize accountants for example without pointing to an array of already unionized professions.
